PAUL Mullin has welcomed competition for his place in the starting line-up.
Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has revealed that he has been scouring the market for a Third Division goalscorer.
And the Stanley striker believes the club's efforts to bring in another forward can only be good for the team.
"There is competition for places right the way through the team. Everyone's got a point to prove," said the 29-year-old, who has established a good partnership with fellow front man Lutel James.
"A new signing often freshens things up and the more exposure we get, the more players want to come to the club - better players.
"We've done well, but we can't sit back on our laurels - everyone's aware of that - and that sort of attitude will help us up the table."
He added: "We've got to believe in our own ability and believe that we can do something in this league."
