RESIDENTS will get their first glimpse of plans for the Lancaster Canal and have the chance to do some building themselves.
The event, which is being organised by Real Planning for Lancaster, will give people the opportunity to build clay models on a large scale 3-D street plan of things they would like to see on the site.
"Whether people have been involved with the project, heard about the group or completed a questionnaire or not, building the model is a good opportunity to get involved in how things could look in the future," says Paul Speight, workshop co-ordinator.
The project is part of the Lancaster Canal consultation process, which has already included a survey asking residents what they think about the current site and what they would like to see on the land by the canal, currently known as the cultural quarter.
The event is being held at the Gregson Centre, Lancaster, on Saturday from 10am.
