BARNOLDSWICK is being invaded by insects as it prepares for its busiest weekend of the year this week.
The Barlick Bugs event will see thousands of insects around the town, and visitors will also be treated to a buzzing programme of entertainment ranging from live music to puppetry.
Bug building has been going on all summer and revellers at the festival will be able to vote for their favourite sculpture.
A 'crazy critter' trail will be laid out with a chance to win a £100 prize, and illuminated butterflies, beetles and bees will lead a lantern parade at dusk on Saturday evening.
A Town Square stage will be packed with performers for the whole weekend, including Barbershop and brass bands.
The Saturday evening will feature local singers, including Amity, a band made up of five 15-year-olds from West Craven High School.
Year 11 pupils Kelly Dickinson, Laura Hartley, Kimberley Wier, Emma Harrison and Sarah Szostak are expected to perform at about 6pm.
The Civic and Community Centre, in Station Road, will host a series of workshops throughout the weekend, and a Barlick Crafters market will be held at the pensioners' club, in Frank Street.
