COLNE & Nelson RUFC's first league game of the season was a sobering one after the two previous victories.
Without several first team regulars because of holiday commitments, Colne & Nelson faced Thornton Cleveleys who were unlucky to be relegated last season. Bolstered by several army personnel from Weeton Barracks, Thornton were too big and strong for the weakened Colne & Nelson team.
The final score was 48-0 to Thornton Cleveleys. Colne & Nelson hope to get back on track this week when they have a pool fixture.
