TYLDESLEY RU sent visitors Windermere back up to the Lake District with a resounding 36-3 defeat after the home side destroyed them with some explosive back play.

Early pressure came from the Windermere forwards and Tyldesley found it hard to gain a solid platform to unleash their potent back line. Indeed after Windermere went 3-0 up with a penalty, Tyldesley responded with good ruck ball in the middle of the park and Man of the Match Ashley Worsfold carved open the Windermere back line allowing full back Andy Dickinson to power his way over the line.

As the game progressed so did the amount of possession for Tyldesley and Worsfold helped himself to two tries. Not to be

outdone centre Mark Dickinson also grabbed a try and three conversions as the Tyldesley backline purred like a well-oiled Ferrari. The forwards recovered from their shaky start to grab two tries, one for lock Craig Pulman and one for back row Mark Swanton.

Tyldesley now make the long trip to Workington on Saturday for the first round of the National Cup.

Tyldesley Knights went down 26-0 away to very fit and well drilled Stockport side. Good performers were Brian Ndlovu and Paul Martin.

Tyldesley Dragons where unlucky to go down 16-12 at Carnforth 2nds. Tries came from skipper John Fetherston and Ian Hilton.
