AFTER last weeks shock reversal to newcomers Bowdon, Leigh RU demolished Wilmslow 46-0.
Leigh started quickly with an early penalty by Fisher, and continued to dictate proceedings, with winger Wright finishing a sweeping movement, Fisher again converting.
Assertive forward play and penetrating movement from the backs saw tries from Lee, Jones and Wilcock, all converted by Fisher, to establish a 31-0 lead. Fisher converted another penalty before Wilcock added his second try, also converted by the former, for an overwhelming half-time lead of 41-0.
After the re-start, an early injury to captain Young upset Leighs cohesion. A fine Fisher midfield break went un-rewarded due to poor handling and Leigh failed to make good use of several chances. A dour stalemate was broken when Wilcock was given too much space to race 80 yards to complete his hat-trick.
