TEACHER Roger Sidney Holt was over the legal drink drive limit when he was stopped driving home from a night out, a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Holt thought he would be all right to drive, despite the fact that he had had something to drink.
Holt, 55, of Waverley Close, Simonstone, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW in Bolton Road, Darwen, while over the limit. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £400 with £55 costs.
Robin Phoenix, defending, said Holt was with his wife, who has trouble with cataracts.
"He thought it better for him to drive because the light had gone," said Mr Phoenix.
