LOWER Darwen Primary School children have been congratulated for raising more than £160 for the Children's Hospitals Appeal Trust which helps a hospital in Prestwich, Manchester.
The pupils listened to a story written for the charity by author Helen Townson and then played sponsored games.
Catherine Hughes, school presenter for the charity, said: "The children have worked very hard for the charity and we are delighted by the support also shown by Mrs Morton the headteacher. They have been very enthusiastic about the children here raising money and I enjoyed talking to them about the many projects we undertake for sick or injured children."
