BROOKSBOTTOMS' promotion bid now hangs by a thread despite their impressive demolition job on erstwhile leaders Bolton Indians in theManchester Association.
Results elsewhere mean that Brox must win again at the weekend and hope that Rylands can help them out against Indians.
On Saturday Brox held sway from the opening over as a very disciplined performance from the quartet of bowlers always had the batting side on the backfoot as the visitors were restricted to 121.
In reply, Brox were solid and apart from a hiccup which saw the run outs of Churchill and Upadhye in successive overs, never looked like falling short.
Neil Richardson was the main man with an unbeaten 62. This time it was watchful Richardson rather than his more destructive persona but it was a vital knock nonetheless and he and Tommy Read led them home.
Meanwhile, Bury completed their great escape against last year's champions Wythenshawe.
But a run of five victories from seven games has seen them secure their Premiership status while Wythenshawe will visit grounds hitherto unknown to them.
Wayne Belston came to the crease and gave the Bury innings impetus with a string of boundaries while Qaiser Riaz progressed the score well.
Belston's dismissal for 21 brought professional Rizwan Saeed to the crease for his final Bury innings. He didn't disappoint his teammates making a fine 48. Riaz continued, mixing catching chances with boundaries before falling eight runs short of a century and Jon Wiggans' unbeaten 50 saw the visitors to a handsome total of 238 for 6.
Saeed and Wiggans made early inroads into the Euxton reply taking a wicket apiece and forcing the run rate beyond the home team's reach. Riaz completed a memorable match by taking 5 for 12.
