THE Archbishop of Sydney is visiting Blackburn at the weekend to talk about ways to make the church more relevant.
The Very Rev Dr Peter Jensen will be speaking at Christ Church, Mosley Street, at 6pm on Sunday on the topic 'shaping the Church for mission'.
The Rev Andrew Raynes, vicar of the church, said Dr Jensen was respected across the world as a clear and stimulating speaker.
He added: "Many churches in Blackburn are having to rethink the way that we communicate the Christian message.
"We need to be contemporary and imaginative in the way we engage with people at the same time as we hold on to the truth of our message."
Dr Jensen's main reason for being in the country is to attend a national congress in Blackpool this weekend on evangelical people in the church.
