GOOD homes are needed for three kittens found abandoned in a cardboard box in Bury.
Bury RSPCA discovered the hungry and thirsty kittens (two males and one female) on Tuesday morning and is looking after them until suitable homes can be found.
Jason Bowles, the town's newly-appointed RSPCA officer, said: "The kittens are about nine weeks old and can be taken individually or together. Ideally, they would go to a home where someone is around during the day, especially while they are still young."
Mr Bowles (35) takes over from Brian Oxley, who retired earlier this year after 33 years with the RSPCA. His duties will include following up cruelty cases and conducting animal investigations.
Prior to joining the RSPCA, Mr Bowles, who has cats and a dog of his own, ran his own chauffeur company in London.
He said: "It's a privilege to work with Bury RSPCA and the people of Bury and I hope I can make a difference."
