A FIRE EATER was treated for burns to his mouth by ambulance crews on Wednesday and taken to Royal Preston Hospital after a performance went wrong.
He is believed to have been juggling with bottles of fire at the Students' Union building, University of Central Lancashire, Fylde Road, at the start of freshers' week, when the accident occurred at 2pm.
Student Union president Ali McCormick said: "We can confirm that there was an unfortunate incident when an individual injured himself after coming on to the university campus to promote a city centre bar and, without permission, performing a fire-breathing stunt."
