SOAP star Julie Hesmondhalgh is hoping a celebrity auction will raise money to help Hyndburn's needy.
Julie, who plays Coronation Street's Hayley Cropper, has put together a collection of goodies autographed by her celebrity friends to raise funds for the charity Maundy Relief.
The actress, who was brought up in Church, has been patron for the registered charity, run by Dorothy McGregor, since April last year.
Maundy Relief, in Abbey Street, was set up in May 1999. It is run by a team of volunteers from throughout East Lancashire and provides food, bedding, small grants and other basic needs to people in Hyndburn on a 24-hour seven-days-a-week basis.
The actress will auction the celebrity-themed goodies at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton-le-Moors, on November 22.
Items up for grabs include a signed picture of soccer superstar David Beckham, signed Coronation Street scripts and photographs, Blackburn Rovers goodies and autographed prizes from the casts of Casualty and The Bill.
Other lots will include a six-month membership for the Dunkenhagh's fitness club, Christmas gifts and household goods donated by Asda and other local businesses.
Julie is also offering two extra special prizes through a prize draw at Maundy Relief -- fans will have the chance to win VIP tickets for a day at Coronation Street.
Julie, said: "Two winners, along with a friend, will be given a tour of the set, meet the cast and watch filming take place.
"To enter, they need to send a cheque for £5 payable to Maundy Relief along with their name and contact details.
"The winners will be drawn on the night of the auction."
Julie Hesmondhalgh's Grand Celebrity Auction will be held between 1pm and 4pm on November 22.
Entry is £5 on the door, which includes a glass of champagne.
Entries for the prize draw should be marked Hayley Competition and sent to Maundy Relief, Abbey Street, Accrington.
