THORNTON were on the attack from the start and Celtic soon found themselves pinned in defence. Alice Jackson had an excellent game in midfield, and scored a hat-trick before the break.
Emma Perrett scored a brace, and was a handful for the Celtic defence throughout the match. Two goals from Abby Webber and one each from Beth Openshaw and Emma Ambrose gave Thornton a 9-0 lead at half time.
After the break Beth Openshaw gave an excellent display in midfield,and Alice Jackson scored her second hat-trick. Further goals from Abbey Webber, Emma Perrett and Rachel Sycamore.

THORNTON took the lead early in the match with a goal from Rachel Warren. Sally Parker then added a second combining well with Rachel Warren. Tamara Fenton put in some excellent crosses from the right, and Rachel scored the third goal for Thornton. Team Captain, Leah Hinchliffe, converted a penalty just before half time giving Thornton a 4-0 lead.
After the break Horwich packed the defence content to attack on the break. Jade Thornhill gave an outstanding performance in defence for Thornton and together with Leanne Baddeley was always in control. A well taken goal from Leah Hinchliffe in the second half made the score 5-0 at full time.
