A THEATRE group is breaking away from producing pantomime for a new venture.
The Apple Dance Players, formed four years ago, take a trip back to the Seventies for their latest production, singer-songwriter/comedian Mike Harding's hilarious Fur Coat and No Knickers on September 12 and 13 in the Ex-Servicemen's Club, Windermere Road, Leigh.
The comedy is set around a stag night, a wedding reception, three pubs and a drunken priest with lots of music, memorabilia and fashion from the era.
The group was founded by producer-director Guy Tudgay from the parents of young dancers at Leigh's Twist Lane-based Apple Dance Centre.
Guy, who runs drama and singing classes, said: "We have only performed pantos until now but decided to try something new and chose this hilarious show. I produced it over in Warrington and it was a great success."
The group is seeking new members for stage and back stage work and anyone interested can contact Guy on 07831 436 429.
Tickets for the show, which begins at 7.30pm, are £6, £4 children and concessions, and are available from the dance centre on 01942 674010.
