DANIEL Parker's musical upbringing has influenced his latest photography exhibition although he cannot play a note himself.
Daniel's father, Vinny Parker, is a piano/keyboard player and Daniel was brought up listening to records of his brand of modern jazz fusion.
The 35-year-old, who lives in Joseph Street, Radcliffe, is a professional photographer and was appointed official photographer for this summer's Manchester Jazz Festival.
He has snapped some of the best names in jazz and his exhibition, Shooting the Cool, can now be seen at Prestwich Library until September 26.
Daniel, pictured with his camera at the exhibition featuring his work, said: "I was brought up on my dad's records but I can't play a musical instrument myself. I had piano lessons as a child but I did not continue with them."
Formerly of Whitefield, Daniel attended Albert Road Comprehensive School before taking an A-level in photography at Bury College.
He now works as a social photographer, taking portraits and photographs of weddings.
He said: "With the Shooting the Cool project, I was able to combine both my passions and I enjoyed it very much. It was great fun."
His exhibition has already been shown at the Focus On Imaging exhibition in Birmingham but Daniel wanted to put his work on display closer to home.
The exhibition is described as a pictorial review of the vibrant jazz scene in the north west and includes well-known artists such as Cleo Laine, Jools Holland and George Melly.
