IF YOU'VE always wanted to play the spoons -- or any other folk instrument for that matter -- Fylde-based folk network Folkus is holding a series of learning workshops throughout Lancashire this autumn.
The one-day events are being held at various venues across the county from October to December. The first will be at Garstang High School, Bowgreave Road, Garstang on October 5, with workshops in spoons, bodhran, English concertina, guitar, keyboards, melodeon, voice and whistle. And workshops in voice and fiddle will also be held during a weekend storytelling festival at Ings, near Kendal, Cumbria on September 27 and 28.
The workshops cost £12 per adult, £6 for ten-16-year-olds and £9 concessions (student, unemployed and seniors).
