POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an 11-year-old boy tried to snatch a pensioner's shopping bag.
The victim was walking along South Street, Bacup, between 9.45am and 10.30am on Wednesday when she was approached by the youngster who tried to grab the bag.
She was knocked to the floor but managed to hold on to the shopping and the child ran off.
He was described as white, 5ft tall, of medium build, lwith ight coloured hair.
He was wearing a maroon v-neck jumper and black trousers.
