NEW Rossendale manager Paul Lynch had mixed feelings after seeing his side in action for the first time.
Dale director and former Manchester City and England player David White took charge of the game at Kendal on Tuesday and Lynch admitted he was impressed with the first half performance.
But the Dark Lane side, who have added to their recent signings by snapping up Neil Reynolds and Chris Whittingham from Clitheroe, let a 1-0 lead slip to leak two second half goals.
"We were brilliant in the first half and passed the ball around well but we weren't so good in the second half," said Lynch.
"We went for the long ball, which suited Kendal, and we let them back into it."
Former Colne boss Lynch took his first training session with Rossendale last night in preparation for their UniBond Division One trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels tomorrow.
"Hopefully we'll get a result there and that will put us on our way to earning a place in the top 10," he said.
"It will take a couple of weeks for everything to settle down now but our main aim is to pick up three points tomorrow."
Lynch was hoping to hold talks with former Dale player Gary Williams last night following his return from America but he added he doesnn't have any more irons in the fire regarding new signings at this stage.
