RAMSBOTTOM United manager Andy Grimshaw is hoping to avoid more north east naivety in the FA Vase tomorrow.
As their name suggests, Shotton Comrades will arrive at the Riverside hoping their solid team spirit will see them through the second qualifying round tie.
And they will have been further buoyed by fellow Northern League side Ashington's 3-1 FA Cup victory over the Rams last Saturday, a result that made things really grim up north for Grimshaw.
He said: "The second half performance was just naivety on the part of some players.
"At half-time I told the lads that if I had to fall asleep on the bench and we came away with a 1-0 win that's fine.
"We'd just gone ahead but on that pitch I knew we'd have to work hard to get behind the ball.
"But it was as if I'd gone into Ashington town centre and just told some passer-by because they didn't listen to what I'd said and it was total naivety."
Some of Grimshaw's confidence has since been restored by the fact that the Rams bounced back on Tuesday to beat Abbey Hey 1-0 in North West Counties Division One.
Iain Dyson's wedding rules him out of tomorrow's tie so Luke Hardman is likely to step into the team.
And Grimshaw is insisting there will be no cup hangover from last week's north east nightmare when Shotton arrive.
He said: "It's no problem for me tomorrow because we're at home, which is a big incentive because the pitch here is lovely, it's in very nice condition.
"I'm looking to progress in this and the league and see where we go from there."
The United boss is also hoping to sign two more players in time for Tuesday's league meeting with Warrington Town.
