CRAIG Brown has warned his players that Tuesday's 4-2 win over Coventry City will count for nothing if they don't repeat the feat against Rotherham this weekend.

With Ricardo Fuller doubling his goal tally for the season with a brace and Richard Cresswell finally grabbing his first of the campaign Brown has rubbished terrace talk that the pair don't work well together.

Brown has strongly defended his two preferred strikers, saying: "It was good to see the strikers working well together and scoring goals so we are pleased about that.

"The chemistry between the two strikers has been criticised but they get on very well and have tried to link up together.

"You will see their attitude towards each other, when one scored you see the delight on the other's face. David Healy was also on the bench and he has never been as pleased to see Cressy score a goal.

"The spirit is good, the chemistry is good and the group dynamics are good. Some people have made the mistaken notion that the pair don't get on but there was good co-operation between Cresswell and Fuller.

"When Fuller got the cruciate injury the first player to visit him was Richard Cresswell so it is nonsense to think that there is a lack of co-operation in these guys." But Brown faces concerns in midfield ahead of Saturday's game, with Dickson Etuhu suffering a nasty knee injury and Eddie Lewis coming off during what, if nothing else, was a morale-boosting win.

Michael Keane, praised once again by the manager for being level-headed, is almost certain to start.

Brown hopes his rally cry to the troops - and for fans to stick behind the team even if they go behind in a game - will lead to a string of wins.

Brown said: "The lads have been due a good victory. But now we have to make sure we win again on Saturday.

"We thought two weeks ago we had turned the corner after we beat Stoke.

"But then we lost at Bradford. And if we don't follow this up with another victory straight away we could be having difficulties again.

"Everyone can see this team is good enough to be far higher up the league.

"Now we have to start climbing up there to where we belong.

"The fans were very supportive but I hope they aren't just fairweather fans who only cheer us on when we are winning.

"It is when the lads are behind that they need a bit more support and I'm sure they will give that."
