ANOTHER district post office in Blackburn is set to close in December.
Post offices bosses said it was no longer viable to keep Lammack PO on Columbia Way open - but they are willing to hear from customers before making a final decision in November.
The proposed closure is part of a national restructuring plan of the 9,000 urban post offices because bosses say there are too many competing for not enough business.
Area manager Eddie Herbert said: "We do not propose closing a post office without considerable research and discussion so we are anxious that customers and all relevant organisations understand why we consider it necessary to reduce the size of our network.
"In the case of Lammack, the viability of the office has been affected by a declining number of customers, increased running costs, and the prospect of less business now the Department of Works and Pensions is transferring benefit payments from passbooks to bank accounts."
