TALENTED young people from Pendle's Asian community will attend an award ceremony at Nelson Civic Theatre on Monday to recognise their academic achievements and contribution to school life.
The young people have been chosen by their school or college for an award.
There are categories for high achievers, achievement beyond expectation and best contribution to school life.
The event, the only one of its kind in East Lancashire has been organised by the Ethnic Minority Benevolent Association (EMBA), based in Carr Road, Nelson.
If forms part of EMBA projects working with people from ethnic minorities to develop their understanding of the importance of education.
The organisation is also working with individuals to develop their skills and knowledge for a volunteer mentoring scheme and is encouraging and supporting people starting their own businesses.
