POPULAR puddings could prove the recipe for success at a Clitheroe coffee morning to raise cash for charity.
Helen Colley, 37, proprietor of award-winning Clitheroe pudding firm, Farmhouse Fare, is to throw open the doors of her factory in a special coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
And the company that was named New Business of the Year in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph Business Awards 2002 this week secured a deal to supply its puddings into local Asda stores.
The go-ahead company already counts Booth's, Sainsbury's, Costco and Makro among its high-profile customers.
Helen launched her pudding-making business using mouthwatering recipes from her great-great-grandmother, Janet Anderson, 18 years ago.
Helen and mum Dorothy Falshaw dubbed themselves Farmhouse Fare and supplied shops and hotels in the area with sticky toffee, marmalade and luxury chocolate puddings.
Now she employs 25 people in custom-built commercial kitchens at Anderson House, Salthill Industrial Estate.
She was helped by East Lancashire Business Link adviser Tim Bullough, whose support she described as invaluable.
The coffee morning takes place on Friday, September 26, at Anderson House, from 10am and 1pm, and everyone is welcome.
