RAMSBOTTOM residents living in council homes across the borough are to be asked whether they are happy with the service they receive.
Bury Council, which owns more than 8,000 homes, is sending out the tenants' satisfaction questionnaire to 2,000 randomly-chosen tenants over the next two weeks and is staging a prize draw to encourage as many people as possible to respond. Tenants could win up to £100 for voicing their opinions on their council landlord. People who return questionnaires will have the chance to win one of the cash prizes of £100, £50 and two runners up prizes of £25.
The STATUS survey has been put together by the National Housing Federation, with the information being gathered by the Manchester-based market research company Kwest.
Councillor Tim Chamberlain, Bury Metro Council's Executive Member for Regeneration and Housing, said the survey followed a similar one conducted by the council three years ago.
He said: "The facts that we gain from surveys such as this are a vital part of finding out more about what our tenants' current and future needs are.
"Comparing this year's results with the previous ones will allow us to see whether people feel that the services they receive from us are getting better.
"I would urge anyone who gets a questionnaire through their door to spare a few minutes to fill out the questionnaire and help make a difference for everybody."
