IN true Jimmy Savile style, the Rossendale Valley Motorbike Show is planning to 'fix it' for Claire Winter to be a VIP for the day tomorrow.

Claire, 13, suffers from the rheumatic disease systemic sclerosis.

At any time and without warning the blood supply cuts off to her hands and feet and they turn black. There is no treatment and no cure.

Her parents have described the condition as 'living with a ticking timebomb'.

When Tony Winder, chairman of the bike show, heard about Claire's condition he offered her family, from Sandfield Road, Bacup, VIP treatment that only the bike show could deliver.

And in fix-it style, Tony will be taking Claire as pillion passenger on his motorbike in the famous ride-in of up to 2,000 motorbikes from Winfields, which starts the show.

When the bikers arrive in Rawtenstall, Claire, her parents Terry and Louise and sisters Kirsty, 12, and Jodie, 10, and brother Jake, four, will all be guests of the show, escorted around the town and the show's myriad attractions by committee member Keith Murray.

Tony said: "I am looking forward to being able to make it a day to remember for Claire.

"We are very pleased that she has agreed to be a VIP and we will make sure it is an extra-special occasion that she won't want to forget.

"We will provide her with bike show goodies and escort her to the Wall of Fear, to watch the stunts on Daisy Hill performed by Xtreme and also the stunts on Bocholt Way by Straightliners."

Terry said: "Claire has never been to the show and never been on a motorbike before but she is looking forward to it.

"She has talked about the Wall of Fear and now she will get the chance to see it and although she isn't nervous at the moment - she may be a bit nearer the time."
