REGARDING Councillor Don Rishton glorifying the new parliament/assembly of both Scotland and Wales (Letters, September 15), while both of these countries receive a much greater British government funding for every resident, it is the English people who subsidise this inequality.
As for public transport being better in Scotland and Wales, ask the countless people who have had train and bus services slashed!
Is Coun Rishton aware of what the final costs of the new parliament building in Scotland and the Assembly building in Wales will be?
Does he also believe that our overly-represented-by-Scots government will fund East Lancashire on a par with Scotland?
