COLNE as it was more than 90 years ago can now be revisited following the publication of an old Ordnance Survey map.
The map covers the area from Church Street northwards, including Market Street, Keighley Road, Skipton Road and Red Lane, and extends to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in the north west of the town.
The scale of the map, Colne (North) 1910, allows great detail to be shown, including individual buildings.
Cotton mills, churches and chapels down to small terraced houses, outbuildings and greenhouses are included, as well as railway sidings and signal posts.
The map includes a descriptive essay about the town by Lancashire historian Alan Crosby.
It has been published by Alan Godfrey Maps and is available from all good book shops, priced £2.10. Similar maps have been published for Nelson and Brierfield.
