BLACKBURN Athletic football club have been given a helping hand and a new look thanks to a tenacious teenager and a helpful hi-fi firm.
The team entered the Blackburn Community 7-a-side league and wanted to go into the winter league -- but were struggling for funds to buy a strip.
So team player Keith Brunt, 19, of Accrington Road, Blackburn set about bringing in cash and had raised about a third of the total required when Romers Hi-fi of Great Harwood stepped in to sponsor the rest.
When Romers' MD Graham Waywell heard how hard Keith had been working to raise cash on his own he stepped in with financial backing to buy new shirts for the squad of 16 players.
Keith is a dedicated football supporter and as well as rasing funds for Athletic he has been working at Blackburn Rovers as a steward supervisor.
