STANLEY celebrated their first Conference away success but the day was marred by the side's fourth red card of the season.
Stanley had to play for almost an hour with 10 men after Andy Procter was the latest player to receive his marching orders.
John Coleman's side lost the midfielder on 33 minutes to a second yellow card for kicking the ball away at a free-kick, after Steve Halford had handled an intended throughball.
Procter had been yellow carded in the opening 10 minutes for following through in a challenge on Dagenham keeper Pullen, that had left the home goalkeeper crumbled on the ground.
It was the fourth dismissal of an Accrington player this season.
The game ended with both sides only having 10 men on the field, the Daggers losing central defender Tim Cole in the final minute of normal time.
During a late flare-up on the touchline, Cole appeared to head butt Stanley substitute Dean Calcutt as the home side's frustration boiled over. Calcutt had only been introduced to the action just five minutes before.
On their first visit to Dagenham's East London home, Stanley did themselves proud.
There were early appeals for a home penalty, when a Chris Piper shot appeared to strike Rob Williams' arm before being cleared, but any award by referee Harris would have been harsh.
Home keeper Pullen did well to go down and catch Peter Cavanagh's dangerous cross, but Procter seemed to put in an unnecessary challenge on the keeper when the ball seemed secure and picked up his first yellow in nine minutes.
Accrington's first coherent move saw Lutel James played in by Halford's long ball. James, in turn, set up Steve Flitcroft, but home defender Cole got in the challenge just before the young midfielder could pull the trigger.
Just past the half-hour, Halford was forced to handle a dangerous looking through ball from Dagenham's Kimble. Procter, rather stupidly, kicked the ball away before the kick could be taken and unsurprisingly left the action.
James followed him into Mr Harris's book five minutes later for disputing a free-kick, before Stanley's best opening of the half saw Rory Prendergast played in a by a 40-yard Halford pass, but home keeper Pullen anticipated well, coming to the edge of his area to block the effort.
Steve Hollis became Stanley's third booking early in the second-half for bringing down home winger Scully, but two minutes after Gordon Armstrong's experience had been introduced, on 65 minutes, the ex-Burnley and Sunderland man fashioned the winner.
He left an astute ball down the left for Prendergast to get the better of Cole and slip over a low cross that saw Paul Mullin get just ahead of home skipper Matthews to touch it past keeper Pullen into the corner.
Daggers made a triple substitution and applied their most sustained spell of pressure in the final 20 minutes.
A cleverly worked free-kick saw Kimble play in Scully. Cole stabbed the cross goalward, but Jon Kennedy, in impressive form, did wonderfully well to get back and smother on the line.
Then substitute winger Bruce put in a good run and cross, and fellow sub Shipp rose to head against the crossbar and out.
Bruce was played in by Scully moments later, down the other flank, but although his shot went past Kennedy, it didn't carry sufficient power and Cavanagh managed to clear off the line.
It was the last dangerous moment for Stanley and apart from the last-minute flare-up, they held out without further concern.
ACCRINGTON: Kennedy, Cavanagh, Halford (Durnin 87), Williams, Hollis, Procter, Flitcroft, Gouck (Armstrong 66), Prendergast (Calcutt 85), James, Mullin.
