A WOMAN ejected from an Accrington nightclub later went on to hit a man over the head with a stiletto heel.

The victim was sitting on a wall when Sharon McWilliams came up from behind and hit him over the head, leaving him bleeding from a head wound.

The 28-year-old mother-of-two of Lincoln Court, Church, pleaded guilty to a charge of actual bodily harm assault and was ordered to carry out 100 hours' community service and pay £250 compensation.

Charles Brown, prosecuting, said the assault in August last year followed an incident at the Opium nightclub, Accrington, from where the defendant and her boyfriend had been ejected. This followed an incident in which Gareth Jones suffered a blooded nose and was given first aid on the premises.

McWilliams was extremely annoyed that they had been thrown out, but Mr Jones allowed to remain inside.

After he left the club, Mr Jones walked through Accrington and ended up sitting on a wall outside Baileys cafe car.

Mr Brown said: "It appears she came up behind him and struck Mr Jones on the head with the heel of her stiletto shoe. That blow caused a gash to the head. It was bleeding profusely."

Dennis Watson, defending, said McWilliams regretted her actions.
