NEW Rossendale manager Paul Lynch was impressed with his side's performance in his first game in charge.
But the former Colne chief won't let his judgement rest on one game. So the Dale players will have it all to do again when they travel to Bamber Bridge tonight if they want to stake a claim in Lynch's starting line-up.
"I threw our five new signings in and they gelled straight away," said Lynch, who re-signed Gary Williams in time for their trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels on Saturday.
"Three of the new lads had already played at Rossendale before and the other two are locals lads so they all know each other, but it was a good sign that things seemed to settle down so quickly.
"Stocksbridge were unbeaten at home before Saturday so I couldn't ask any more of my players really, but they need to be judged after three games or so, not just one."
New signing Matt Houldsworth is ruled out of tonight's game with a calf injury.
