THERE'S no rest for the wicked, or so the saying goes.

Accrington Stanley are gearing up for tonight's showdown at home to Burton Albion, which is hot on the heels of their win at Dagenham and Redbridge and their fourth red card of the season.

Midfielder Andy Procter was sent for an early bath following two bookable offences at the Glyn Hopkin Stadium on Saturday.

But manager John Coleman felt his side were hard done to, being a man down after around half an hour without a bad foul being committed.

"People will look at our dismissals and think our discipline isn't looking too good," he said.

"But the first booking was ridiculous. He fell over the goalkeeper going for the ball but it was deemed to be a late challenge.

"For his second yellow, he kicked the ball away. We accept that, but whether it was dissent is a debatable matter because it was about a second after the whistle had been blown.

"So we were playing with 10 men for the best part of an hour and there hadn't been a bad challenge."

But Coleman was delighted with the way his side battled to earn their first away win of the campaign after Paul Mullin pouned in the 66th minute.

And he says the players are eager to build on their five-game unbeaten run.

"The lads can't wait for the games to come around," he said.

"Burton will will have had an extra day's rest and after playing so long with 10 men on Saturday our players might get tired legs in the latter stages of the game. But they're definitely up for it."

He added: "It was very hot during the game on Saturday and that sapped a lot of energy.

"But it was pleasing to get the first away point and we've got to start trying to pick up as many points as we can.

"If you set yourself a target of finishing in the play-offs, why not make it realistic?"

Midfielder Andy Gouck will need a fitness test before tonight's game as he is still struggling with an ankle injury, while central defender Jonathan Smith is doubtful after missing Saturday's game with a neck injury.
