YOUNGSTERS helped improve a 22km stretch of the popular, long-distance Rossendale Way.
The work, which has been carried out over the last ten months, was part of an Environmental Task Force training scheme run by Rossendale Groundwork to give unemployed youngsters work experience.
Improvements include 16 new kissing gates, 42 new marker posts and new surfaces in wet and boggy stretches of the path.
