A PAIR of Burnley opticians are marking National Eye Care Week by campaigning for more people to get regular tests.
Specsavers co-directors, Sue George and David Cleasby, said many people did not realise the importance of regular eye tests, which can detect an array of sight and health problems.
National Eye week is an initiative set up by the Eyecare Trust to educate people about the importance of eyecare. Sue said: "Thousands of people in the UK are believed to have eye problems without being aware of it.
A regular eye examination doesn't just make sure your eyes are in good condition, it's also an imbjportant part of looking after yourself and staying healthy."
Mr Cleasby added: "A sight test enables your optician to measure the extent of any problems and explain the options which meet your personal requirements."
The eye tests can also detect other health problems, such as glaucoma and diabetes.
