A MAN banned by an Anti Social Behaviour Order from seeing his lifelong friend met up with him to say their fond farewells.
Burnley magistrates heard how Alhaj Mahmood, 21, and Tarjan Uddin drove to Waterfoot because they knew they would not be able to communicate with each other -- but still wanted to be friends.
Mahmood of Throstle Close, Burnley, admitted breaching an interim Anti Social Behaviour Order. He was bailed until October 21, for a pre-sentence report.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said Mahmood was made subject of the interim order on September 15. It was a civil order and not attached to any criminal convictions.
He appeared in court along with a number of other youths, largely from the Stoneyholme area of Burnley, and was prevented from communicating or associating with Tarjan Uddin.
Police were making enquiries about other matters in the Bacup area and followed a car driven by the defendant. Mr Uddin was in the passenger seat. Both gave correct details to police. Mahmood had previous convictions for assault and possessing an offensive weapon.
Charlotte Crane, defending, said Mahmood and Mr Uddin were well aware they were not to communicate with each other.
They had known each other since childhood and decided to say their farewells before the full order was made. They had always been good friends and wanted to stay that way.
The duo went out of the area and drove to Waterfoot. They were not supposed to be together but were just in the car and not doing any harm.
