A RAIDER who struck twice at the same Trawden commercial premises had eaten no food and had no cash, Burnley Magistrates heard.
The court was told Stuart Leeming, 23, first took a £200 chainsaw, then went back later and came out empty handed but left fingerprints.
When police arrested him after the second offence, he owned up to the first even though police had no evidence.
Leeming, of Oak Street, Colne, admitted burglary. He was given a two month curfew order, between the hours of 9pm and 6am from Monday to Friday and 10pm and 6am Saturday and Sunday.
He was also ordered to pay £200 compensation although the bench made no order for costs.
John Rusius, defending, said Leeming had turned his life around but had hit a big problem in August when he was late for a job interview.
His benefits were stopped and he had had no money and no food.
He came across the building under renovation and went in. He was now getting benefits again and had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.
