I WISH to add my voice to that of S Mullen (Sep 18) regarding the addition of fluoride to our water supply.
I too feel very strongly against this, primarily because I favour freedom of choice.
I reserve the right to choose whether or not I brush my teeth twice a day; whether or not to eat fatty foods and whether to take or ignore any advice which is given me.
So I say to Mr Burnham -- and have also written to him -- I reserve the right to drink water that is not contaminated with fluoride, even if it were to prevent my teeth from decaying and falling out.
I have support and am grateful for much of what Mr Burnham is doing for Leigh but I cannot support him on this issue. Is he going to provide my family with bottled spring water for the rest of our lives?
C Henthorn,
Leigh
