AWARDS in Darwen Civic Society's photographic competition 'Eyesores In and About Darwen' were presented yesterday.
The society's 15th annual exhibition, on display in the town library, highlights grot spots in the area from various viewpoints.
Children and adults were encouraged to look at their town and capture it on camera.
Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Coun Mike Barratt handed out the awards last night after judges trawled through the entries.
Rubbish in Back Hacking Street was captured in the winning adult entry by Alan Holden and other eyesore spots included recycling bins near the leisure centre, the former technical school and Two Gates.
The winning entry for 11 to 16-year-olds was 'Rubbish' by Scott Rigby and in the under-11s, Daniel Worth, from St Barnabas School, won with 'Off Watery Lane'.
The library display continues until October 10 and the winning photographs will be featured at the society's annual coffee morning at Derwent Hall on October 11.
