MORE than 1,000 former pupils of Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School are going back to school for a special reunion.
The event, on Saturday, October 4, is being held to celebrate 300 years since the school was founded, and 90 years since the school was built on its present site in Waterfoot.
Former students are travelling from as far away as America, Australia and China.
On the day, the school will be open from 11.30am, but headmaster Martyn Morris will officially launch the celebrations at 2pm.
In the evening there will be a concert featuring some of the school's former pupils.
Then, on Sunday, October 5, there will be a morning service conducted by the Rev John Maiden.
Trevor Elkington, director of the sixth form and chairman of the reunion committee, said: "We are looking forward to another successful reunion."
