LEIGH Literary Society is preparing for the start of a busy new season.
On October 6 Margaret Curry launches the seven month series of talks with her subject "Cotton Wool Country" followed on the 20th by Neville Holt's "The York Story".
Other diary dates are: November: 3 Market Day by Agatha Brown; 17 Frances Trollope by Liz Williams.
December: 1 Sea Bird Summer and Birds of the Pennine Forest by Gordon Yates; 15 The Last Lighthouse Keeper by Gordon Medlicott.
January: 5 Canals in Camera by Roy Murphy, 19 The Kerry Way by David Cookson.
February: 2 Travels Through Peru by Andrew Calder, 16 Lancashire Comedians by Tony Hilton.
March: 1 Landscapes of Inspiration by John Westmorland, 15 Gilbert and Sullivan by David Hill. April: 19 AGM and talk on Cornwall by Trevor Lucas.
Meetings are in the Derby Room, Leigh Library, at 7.30pm. Subscriptions are £13, visitors £1.50.
