AN event at Bury Town Hall proved just the job for those seeking seasonal part-time or full-time employment.

More than 200 potential vacancies were on offer at the fourth annual Job Fair, which attracted around 900 visitors.

More than 20 employers used the occasion to undertake their Christmas seasonal recruitment. Vacancies up for grabs were mainly for the retail sector, but also included permanent jobs with council, police and hospital.

The event, staged at the town hall's Elizabethan Suite, was opened by Bury's mayor and mayoress, Coun Wilf Davison and his wife Maureen.

Employers who took part included Currys, Marks & Spencer, T K Maxx. Boots, Argos, Littlewoods/Index, Village Hotel, Fairfield Hospital, and the Army.
