PARISHIONERS will be flying the flag at Christ Church, Walmersley, next week when they welcome a special guest to their annual Last Night at the Proms concert.
Esteemed singer Martin Toal, who performed the national anthems at the recent England match against Liechtenstein, will be leading the chorus next Saturday (4 Oct).
The event features the favourite anthems of Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem, and is held annually at the church.
Also included this year will be light classical arias, popular opera, and brass pieces from the group Euphoria.
Concert organiser John Clegg: "This is the eighth time the concert has been run and each year our audience builds up.
"People really enjoy their chance to sample the atmosphere of a night at the Albert Hall right here in Walmersley."
Tickets costing £6.50 for adults (£5.50 concessionary) are available on 01706 826832.
