PAUL Rowley and Ricky Bibey will both be in the Leigh Centurions' team to visit the Last Chance Saloon on Sunday.
The Hilton Park coaching team have confirmed that hooker Rowley and prop Bibey will play against Hull KR as the Centurions scrap it out for a place in the National League One Grand Final.
Rowley and Bibey are both facing suspension after their red cards against Salford last weekend. Their cases will be head at RL headquarters next Tuesday when any bans will rule them out of the final on October 5.
Assistant coach Norman Turley admitted that all options had been weighed up, including leaving both out of this Sunday's game. "But the bottom line is we need to beat Rovers to get into the Grand Final. To do that we need our strongest possible 17 and Rowley and Bibey are in that squad."
Last chance
Having lost last Sunday's Qualifying Semi-Final at Salford, Leigh are fully aware that this week is their last chance to make the Grand Final and subsequently stake a claim for Super League status.
"Nothing less than a victory will do," Turley says. "You could argue that we should have beaten Salford last week, but the stark fact is that we didn't and they're sitting pretty already in the final and we have to cope with a tense afternoon against Hull KR.
"The players were bitterly disappointed that they didn't qualify automatically last weekend. But we've worked hard all season to make sure we finished in the top two and get that safety net of a second chance. We're in no mood to waste the opportunity that's been given to us.
"We've not dwelt too long on the Salford defeat but we've taken a lot of positives from it and see no reason why we shouldn't bounce back against Rovers."
Of the teams still left in the competition, Rovers are unquestionably the form team. They've won their last seven games, including victory over Salford on the final weekend of the regular season.
"They are always tough," Turley says. "They've probably got the biggest side in the division and will be coming here very confident after their recent run of form."
