THE future of an East Lancashire Shopmobility outlet is looking brighter thanks to a settlement from its former financial backer.
Accrington Shopmobility faced closure earlier this year when Lakesway Mobility pulled out of a three-year sponsorship agreement.
But the store in Whalley Road has been given a £4,000 settlement that should see it into the new year.
Pat Day, trustee at the registered charity, said: "They have given us £4,000 plus the stock left in the shop.
"It is all finished now and the money should pay the rent and overheads into the new year. We are also looking at other ideas to bring money in but the main thing is we are still here and we are going to keep going."
The centre enables disabled people to shop in the town centre by providing scooters and wheelchairs for a small donation. It also sells a selection of mobility aids.
In order to help towards next year's bills volunteers have organised a Christmas draw and tickets are now on sale for £1 each.
Prizes include a recliner chair, Christmas hamper and £50, which can be viewed in the store window.
