THERE may be a party going on in Milton Keynes this weekend, but Luke Chadwick insists that the Clarets won't let their focus slip.
As the Dons play their first game at the National Hockey Stadium the national media are taking notice, not least because of the controversy that has seen Wimbledon's fans desert them in droves after the board's decision to take the club out of London.
Ever since the move to Milton Keynes was first mooted the Dons have been playing in front of minuscule crowds at their temporary Selhurst Park lodgings - their final game of last season was against the Clarets and attracted only 1,972 fans.
But tomorrow will be different with approaching 10,000 expected to attend a match with the home following believed to be made up predominantly from the new found interest in Milton Keynes.
It could be a hit or a miss, but Burnley midfielder Chadwick says that the Clarets cannot get tied up in any of the circus surrounding the historic event.
"Obviously none of us have ever played at the National Hockey Stadium, but then neither have they," said Chadwick, currently on a season's loan from Manchester United.
"There will be a lot of attention on this game purely because it is the first one there and obviously Wimbledon will want to start with a win.
"It is always a tough game against Wimbledon anyway, but we cannot be thinking about either them or the occasion.
"All we have to do is turn up and try and get the three points - hopefully we will ruin the party!"
