MEMBERS of a Rossendale charity have shown their blossoming support for good causes.
Donald Kershaw, member of the NSPCC Rawtenstall Committee, named his award-winning Dahlia "Full Stop" in support of the NSPCCs National Full Stop Campaign to stamp out violence against children.
Donald has grown a new strain of his favourite flower, and let the members of the committee decide on the name.
Mr Kershaw is hoping to produce around 500 cuttings of the plant to help raise money for the NSPCC.
He said: "I am also looking for willing groups to adopt the plant and continue the fundraising."
The Rawtenstall Committee is also holding an Opera Gala evening on Sunday, October 5 at the St Nicholas with St John Parish Church, Rawtenstall. There will be performances from members of Opera North, starting from 7pm.
Admission is £5, with all proceeds going to the NSPCC. Programmes and tickets are available from Margaret Roberts on 01706 214564, the Tourist Information Office in Kay Street, or on the door.
