CLARETS loan star Luke Chadwick feels he has already improved on his game since joining the Turf Moor squad from Old Trafford.
The Manchester United midfielder has revealed that he has already added another string to his bow under Stan Ternent.
After some promising performances the 22-year-old has hit top gear over the past seven days scoring twice in the 4-0 home League win over Bradford City last weekend and following that with another goal during a fine performance in Tuesday night's 3-2 Carling Cup second round victory at Scunthrope United.
And adding the goal-scoring touch is a big bonus for the Cambridge-born player.
"Finishing is one of those skills you have to master and there have been chances going and they have not been taken," said Chadwick.
"But over the past couple of games I have put a few of those chances away and hopefully there is more to come.
"I think a few more chances have come my way, but it really is a combination of learning to keep your composure and, with a little bit of luck, the goals will follow."
The arrival of Delroy Facey and Gareth Farrelly on loan from Bolton has also been a factor in helping Chadwick discover a rich vein of form in front of goal.
Facey's pace and power up front, and Farrelly's composure in midfield has allowed boss Ternent the scope to give Chadwick a free role.
"We have pretty much a five man midfield now with Delroy doing a lot of hard work up front," explained Chadwick.
"The idea is that myself, Robbie Blake and Ian Moore get in there to help him when we can and that is beginning to pay off now we are learning to read each others games.
"You have to know what other players are likely to do before you can really feel that you fit in, but everyone is settling now and understanding each others games.
"In Robbie and Gareth we have got two very good passers of the ball and if I can make a few darting runs through defences then they are he kind of players who are going to find you with a pass."
And Chadwick is determined that he will make an impact during his season's stay at Turf Moor - because he knows he is being watched.
"It would be great to go back to Old Trafford and be able to try and break into the side, but there is huge competition there," he said.
"It is great working with Stan, who is a big character, but I know that United will be in touch with him on a regular basis.
"They have asked for feedback and progress reports and if I fail to meet what they are looking for I am sure that I will get to know about it."
