WHAT is the problem? It seems to be a case of, yes, we want wind farms but not in our back garden (LET, September 23).
Renewable energies are needed and needed now. The proposed wind farm at Scout Moor in Rossendale will benefit everyone in the long run.
I was born and brought up in Rawtenstall, but now live in the Arizona, USA, and I see a far larger wind farm, with hundreds of turbines, every time we drive to Los Angeles.
They are not the eyesore that people like to or lead us to believe. It is time that people stopped complaining.
What are the alternatives? -- pollution, rising oil prices. People need to stop and think long and hard -- the pros outweigh the cons.
