Leigh Centurions 42 Hull KR 1 by Mike Hulme: THE Centurions will resume hostilities against Salford next Sunday with the biggest prize of them all at stake.
The local rivals will slug it out at Widnes in the National League One Grand Final with the winners moving up to Super League.
This will be Leigh' s third Grand Final in four years - and they've still got to win one. No-one does it better at finishing second than the Centurions.
Salford have beaten Leigh five times and drawn another in their six meeting so far this season and will start next Sunday's showpiece as red hot favourites. But if Leigh can reproduce the form they showed in the first 40 minutes yesterday, the result may not be a forgone conclusion.
Leigh blew Rovers apart with a scintillating display that saw them 32-4 up at the break and left Rovers coach Steve Linnane to comment: "We have again been beaten by the best team in the competition."
Hooker Paul Rowley was instrumental in Leigh's landslide victory but he may not be in the side against Salford. He and prop Ricky Bibey face the RL Disciplinary Panel tomorrow following their dismissals last weekend.
Leigh could not have made a better start, forcing Rovers to turn over possession on the first play and giving away a penalty that Neil Turley converted.
By the 20th minute Leigh were almost out of sight with tries from Danny Halliwell and Leroy Rivett with Turley adding two more goals.
A Paul Mansson try gave Rovers glimmer of hope but by the break the Humbersiders had been taken apart as Leigh ran in further tries through Pat Weisner, Rivett and Dave Bradbury.
Leigh were able to withdraw Tommy Martyn at half time to protect a bruised thigh. They were never able to reach the heights of the first half but did enough to hold off a spirited Rovers fightback that brought tries for Paul Parker and Alasdair McClarron.
Leigh's only second half points until the final minute came from two Turley penalties but in stoppage time Rivett's midfield break laid on a try for Damian Munro.
